- APPLICATION DEADLINE: All registration forms, with entry fee payment, MUST be received no later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30th to be eligible. Entry fee is $50.
- APPLICATION SUBMISSION: Applications may be submitted online. Performance demo may be submitted via a link to an online clip or performance (YouTube, etc.)
- FORMS OF PAYMENT: Payment is available online, through a secure payment system.
- REFUND POLICY: All registration fees are nonrefundable. Once you submit an application and payment this is an acknowledgment that the undersigned has read and understands this policy and all guidelines within.
- RELEASE: Rhode Island’s Got Talent the irrevocable right to:
a. Use, edit and re-use the acts, pictures, poses, performances, statements and sound materials of myself that are contained in the material that is being submitted to the "Rhode Island’s Got Talent!" contest (the "Submitted Material"), throughout the world and in perpetuity, on standard and non-standard television, home video, print and electronic media (including, without limitation, the Internet or any other on-line medium), and in any other means of distribution, publication or exhibition, whether now known or hereinafter created, as part of any RI’s Got Talent production or publication, including, without limitation, on the www.rhodeislandsgottalent.com website, partner/affiliate websites; and
b. Use my name, voice, likeness, statements, actions and biographical data in connection with the production, publicity, advertising, promotion, exhibition or other exploitation or use of any of the Submitted Material or any production incorporating the Submitted Material.
- COMPETITION DESCRIPTION: Entry description – Solo (1), Duet (2), Group Performance (3 or more); Subject / Style – Dance (Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Modern, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Acrobatics/Gymnastics ), Vocal (Rock ‘n Roll, R&B, Rap, Country, etc.), Instrumental, Song & Dance, Karate, Gymnastics, Juggling, Comedy, Ventriloquism, Impersonation, Contortion, Magic, etc.
- ROUTINE LIMITS: There are no quantity limitations per division. A person can be a part of more than one performance provided that each performance is submitted under a separate application with the appropriate fee.
- AGE: All participants age 17 and younger (at time of application) must submit a release (release form provided by the East Bay Chamber of Commerce available on www.rhodeislandsgottalent.com signed by a parent or a legal guardian.
- RESIDENCE: All participants may be required to provide proof of residence in Rhode Island or Southcoast Massachusetts, or proof of full-time enrollment in a secondary or college/university based in Rhode Island or Southcoast Massachusetts. In the event that any winning contestant does not meet the necessary qualifications stated within these contest rules, all awarded prizes will be forfeited.
- DEMO: Applications may be submitted online. Performance demo may be submitted via a link to an online clip or performance (YouTube, etc.)
- TIME LIMITS: Performance maximum - 5 minutes.
- SELECTION: Rhode Island’s Got Talent Committee members will serve as judges for the application process. Judges score each performance on a scale of 0 to 100. Judges are assessing level of entertainment. Judges scores are added and divided by the number of judges. Based on the number of entries, the committee reserves the right to hold semi-finals if necessary to determine the finalists. Only the top 20 acts will perform in the competition on August 15, 2009. All judges decisions are final, no exceptions!
- AWARDS IN GENERAL: Money prizes to top 3 performances. First place: $1,000.00 cash prize awarded at the event on August 15, 2009. Second place: $500 cash prize awarded at the event on August 15, 2009. Third place: $250 cash prize awarded at the event on August 15, 2009.
Qualifying contestants will be required to sign a written acknowledgement and release authorizing our event sponsors to photograph and videotape and use his/her name and likeness during and after the contest. Ownership of the entries DVD/video will belong to the East Bay Chamber of Commerce with a copy given to the contestants at no cost. Also, a professional invited to the finals day will be required to sign a form stating that professional’s skill brings him/her less than $10,000/year gross, and he/she may be required to submit proof of such.
- COMPETITION OBSERVERS: General admission to the competition is $10, available on a first come, first served basis. Sportsmanlike behavior by competitors and spectators is expected at all times.
- FLASH PHOTOS OR VIDEO: Photos and video taping are allowed in accordance with the policies of our media sponsors.
- FOOD & BEVERAGES: NO FOOD, BEVERAGES, GUM CHEWING or CELL PHONES will be permitted in the auditorium during the dress rehearsal or competition. A representative of the East Bay Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to expel violators. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on the evening of the event at Barrington High School. These concessions will be available during intermission.
- PROPERTY LOSS & INJURY: The East Bay Chamber of Commerce and the host facility, Barrington High School, are not responsible for personal injury or property loss.
QUALIFYING: All contestants qualifying for participation in the competition on August 15, 2009 will receive invitation by mail no later than July 1, 2009.
